Last year, this eight member multicultural worker co-op team wowed the socks off our Pittsfield community, launching a pay what you can model in it's first two months of opening.

The iconic ice cream shop, with it's super large soft serve cones has been a historical sweet spot in the hearts of our Berkshire community for over four decades, calling back tourists and locals alike!

 

As a worker co-op conversion, the team maintained it's memorizing vintage sentiment, infusing it with ethical values and bi-lingual service, offering a pay what you can model, while still retaining a $22/hr wage for it's worker owners. 

 

Tyler, Patrick, Estafania, Rochely, Alex, Spozhmai, Frozan, Michael and Kiel will re-open King Kone this season in May!

Roots & Dream's co-op development program, continues to offer King Kone interim management, while supporting team members create an operational manual that includes best practices. This year the team will collectively learn back office skills including budgeting and book-keeping while also reviewing managerial forms of governance as the team finalizes a permanent governance structure of their own.
